Bahrian - 2001 - 100 Fils - Coat of Arms

Bahrain

Bahrain’s current coat of arms was created in 1932 by British advisor Charles Belgrave and later modified in 1971 and 2002, though its original design remains evident. Its unusual helm-less mantling surrounds a shield that closely mirrors the national flag, rotated so the chief aligns with the flag’s hoist. The design derives from the red-and-white flags used by the Trucial States under British influence in the 19th century, a symbolism also reflected in the heraldry and flags of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
