Barbados | 2000 | 10 Cents | Coat of Arms
The coat of arms of Barbados, adopted in 1966 by decree of Queen Elizabeth II, follows the traditional British heraldic style with a helmet, crest, shield, and animal supporters. Designed by Neville Connell with assistance from Hilda Ince, the crest features a Barbadian fist holding crossed sugar cane stalks, accompanied by the Pride of Barbados flowers and a bearded fig tree. The shield is supported by a dolphin and a pelican symbolizing the fishing industry and Pelican Island, and the motto “Pride and Industry” appears on a scroll below.
