Finland

The Finnish coat of arms appears on the state flag, and the Finnish lion is widely used in emblems of state authorities, often adapted to reflect their specific functions. Municipalities and regions generally avoid using the lion, reserving it for state symbolism, though exceptions exist such as Jakobstad. The Finnish lion also features in military insignia, including generals’ rank badges and naval officers’ rank insignia.
