Greece - 1969 - 10 Lepta - Coat of arms
Greece
The coat of arms of Greece features a white cross on a blue shield, encircled by laurel branches, and has been in use since 1975. Its core design derives from the national flag adopted in 1822 and has formed the basis of all Greek heraldic arms since 1832. Heraldically blazoned Azure, a cross Argent, the laurel branches are officially shown in blue, with gold versions used by the military and the president. Earlier versions during the monarchy included royal crowns, dynastic symbols, and elaborate regalia, while pre-1832 designs often drew on ancient Greek and revolutionary imagery such as Athena and the Phoenix.
