Kiribati - 1979 - 5 Cents - Tokay Gecko

Tokay Gecko

The Tokay gecko is a nocturnal, tree-dwelling reptile found from Northeast India through Southeast Asia to Indonesia and western New Guinea. It inhabits rainforest trees and cliffs but readily adapts to rural buildings, where it hunts insects at night, though expanding urbanization is reducing its range. Known for its distinctive calls, it has many local names across Asia, reflecting its wide distribution.
