 Laos

The national emblem of Laos features Pha That Luang at its center, symbolizing national heritage. Surrounding elements—a hydroelectric dam, road, paddy field, forest, and half cogwheel—represent development, agriculture, industry, and infrastructure. The emblem is framed by rice stalks and red ribbons bearing the inscriptions “Peace, Independence, Democracy” and “Unity and Prosperity.” Modified in 1991, it replaced communist symbols with Pha That Luang and is defined in the Lao constitution.
