Football 7-a-side at the 2012 Summer Paralympics was a
men’s team event for athletes with cerebral palsy or similar impairments, held
from 1 to 9 September at London’s Riverbank Arena. Eight national teams
competed under modified FIFA rules, including seven-player teams, a smaller
pitch, and classification requirements to ensure competitive balance. Following
a group and knockout format, Russia won gold with a 1–0 victory over Ukraine,
while Iran claimed bronze against Brazil. The tournament reflected the sport’s
continued development and international reach within the Paralympic Games.
