Bangladesh - 1974 - 1 Poisha - Coat of Arms

Bangladesh

Bangladesh adopted its national emblem in 1971, featuring a water lily to symbolize the nation’s rivers and natural identity. Four surrounding stars represent the founding constitutional principles of nationalism, secularism, socialism, and democracy. The emblem is largely unique among national symbols, though its water-lily motif shares botanical origins with the Seeblatt found in parts of European heraldry.
