Cyprus

The coat of arms of the Republic of Cyprus shows a dove with an olive branch above “1960” on a gold (copper-yellow) field symbolising the island’s copper resources; the dove is blazoned proper, avoiding a breach of the rule of tincture. The Republic of Northern Cyprus uses a closely similar emblem, retaining the peace symbolism but with different details, notably the date and political identifiers.
