 Switzerland

The coat of arms of Switzerland features a white cross on a red shield and was formally defined in 1815. While widely used on coins, passports, and official symbols, a more elaborate federal seal saw limited use. In 2017, a new law standardized the coat of arms as a Swiss cross on a triangular shield and discontinued recognition of a federal seal.
