Hibiscus flower blossom (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis)
Hibiscus × rosa-sinensis is a cultivated tropical flowering plant of the genus Hibiscus in the family Malvaceae. It is an artificial hybrid created by Polynesians from Hibiscus cooperi and Hibiscus kaute. The plant is widely grown as an ornamental shrub in tropical and subtropical regions and is the national flower of Malaysia. It grows about 2.5–5 m tall with glossy ovate leaves and large, colorful flowers—commonly red but also found in many other colors—containing both male and female reproductive parts.
