Plum Blossom & Orchid

Prunus mume is an Asian tree species in the genus Prunus, commonly called Chinese plum or Japanese apricot. Although known as a plum, it is more closely related to the apricot. Its fruit is widely used in the cuisines and traditional medicine of China, Japan, and South Korea. The tree is especially admired for its plum blossoms that bloom in late winter and early spring.

Orchidaceae is one of the largest families of flowering plants, containing over 21,000 species in about 880 genera. Orchids are widely distributed and known for their colorful and often fragrant flowers. Major genera include Bulbophyllum, Epidendrum, Dendrobium, and Pleurothallis. The family also includes economically important plants such as Vanilla, and many cultivated orchids with thousands of hybrids developed by horticulturists.
